My favorite thing about Grandpa was seeing his gentle side, in the way he really loved and appreciated music and animals. The first image I have when I think of him he is sitting in his chair on the front porch with his music on, his fingers twiddling together to the song playing as his head swayed left and right, eyes closed. The song that's playing is Gordon Lightfoot's 'The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald'. He was clearly someone who was really touched by music, maybe that's where I get it from too. I loved that about him. I remember when he had a pet bird named Tweety who he could sit and talk to for hours in the softest voice, like he was one of his most special friends. Only a week before he left us he was telling me about a bunny that kept going up to the back door looking for food, another woodland friend that made him smile with every visit. He was great to visit with, there never seemed to be a lag in the conversation anytime I was there, and I'll really miss him. Love you forever Grampa. ~Sammi Boo-Boo ❤️
