age 74, of Minocqua, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2022. He was born in Marinette on November 8, 1947; son of the late Elmer and Dorthy (Nickel) West. Corky grew up in Amberg and went to Amberg Grade School and Wausaukee High School where he played football and held the schools record for shot put for some time. He also played basketball and was very involved in all activities in school. Corky furthered his education at U.W. Stevens Point. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, reading and was a true sports fan.
He is survived by his nephew and niece: Dan (Cathy) Fugate and Vickey Bornemann; special friend Molly; and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Elmer Jr.; and sister, Sandra Kaye Fugate.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial gathering on Saturday September 24, 2022 at Roubal Funeral Home from 10am until the time of Corky’s Memorial Service at 11am. Chuck Fick will preside. Burial will be in the Amberg Cemetery.
Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee is assisting Corky’s family with arrangements.
