Sandra A. Stepien

age 79, of Pembine, went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2023, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center surrounded by family. She was born in Norway, Michigan on June 12, 1944; daughter of the late Albert and Victoria (Stumbris) Van Pae. Sandra graduated from Pembine High School Class of 1962 and then worked at the Pembine Bank for 10 years. She was united in marriage to Dale Stepien on May 9, 1964 at St. Margaret Catholic Church. Throughout their 59 years together they ran a successful business (Stepien Logging & Excavating), raised two sons, and enjoyed traveling. Their love throughout their marriage was the greatest example and something everyone dreams of. Sandra was heavily involved with the church in teaching CCD and all the activities. She was an avid reader, excellent bowler, enjoyed cooking and baking, loved watching Hallmark shows but most importantly she devoted her life to her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.
Sandra is survived by her husband of 59 years, Dale, three brothers in law, a sister-in-law. Her children: James (Jena) Stepien, Paul (Jacki) Stepien, and Jeff Groleski (like a 3rd son & brother to the family). Six grandchildren: Nicole (Shawn), Stephanie (Codey), Britney (Logan), Mackenzie, Adeline, and Quintin. Thirteen great grandchildren: Ema, Paisley, Sofia, Olivia, Devin, Trent, Eliana, Avery, Nolan, Liam, Layla, Payton, and Xailynn. She was preceded in death by her brother, George, and sister, Diane.
Visitation will be held from 9:30am to 11am on Friday, July 28, 2023, at St. Margaret Catholic Church in Pembine. The funeral mass will follow at 11am. Fr. Felix Abano will offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Wausaukee. Celebration of life to follow at Paris’ in Pembine 2pm-4pm.
