Jerry “Jerry the Barber” Kapalczynski
Jul 28, 1935 - Aug 05, 2023
age 88, of Athelstane, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on August 5, 2023. He was born in Milwaukee on July 28, 1935; son of the late John and Adeline (Kiewig) Kapalczynski. Jerry met his sweetheart, Clara Tiemann, at Bert Phillips Ballroom on Thanksgiving 1955 and was united in marriage on May 5, 1956, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Milwaukee.
Jerry graduated from Marquette High School in 1954 and followed that with barber school. He started his barbering career with his dad at Kapal’s Barbershop in Milwaukee and opened his own in 1961. In 1973 he relocated to Crivitz with his family and never looked back. For the next 44 years he cut hair as “Jerry the Barber” in Crivitz, finally retiring in 2020; a career spanning 66 years. Throughout his life, Jerry loved golfing, bowling, fishing and anything outdoors. When he stopped raising animals, his energy went to cutting wood and tending to his garden. He had strong Christian faith and his family was his greatest treasure. A people person, that once you were gifted with his friendship, you had unwavering devotion and support. He truly enjoyed all the friendships he made during his lifetime.
