David “Dave” Reed

May 29, 1952 - Feb 24, 2024

age 71, of Dunbar, died unexpectedly Saturday February 24, 2024, at his home. He was born in Milwaukee on May 29, 1952; son of the late Stephen and Alice (Jacobson) Reed. He was the oldest of his five siblings. Dave met his High School Sweetheart Janice Conklin at South Milwaukee High and they were married January 3, 1973. Soon thereafter Dave entered the United States Army during the Vietnam War where he was stationed in Germany. When he was honorably discharged, he and Janice lived in South Milwaukee for 15 years until moving to Dunbar in 1989. Dave was a self-employed carpenter and electrician. He truly loved construction work and remodeling homes. After his health started deteriorating he transitioned into small side jobs and also worked at Home Depot in Iron Mountain.

Dave is survived by his wife of 51 years, Janice; three children: Ken (Rhonda Sharp) Reed, Lisa (Anthony) Joe, and Steven (Elizabeth) Reed; 14 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Nancy Reed, Ruthie Pearce, Michael Reed, Becky Reed, and Bill (Jen) Reed; numerous nieces and nephews and his four-legged friend, Charlie.

Visitation will be held on Thursday February 29, 2024, at Grace Lutheran Church from 9:30am until the time of his funeral service at 11am. The Rev. Lloyd Luedeman will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Dunbar this spring.

Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee is assisting Dave’s family with arrangements.
