Betty Irene Perry

of Dunbar, WI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at The Bay Nu Roc Health and Rehabilitation Center at the age of 86. She was born February 15, 1937 in Chambersburg, IL, the daughter of Cleo and Margaret (Irving) Gordley. Betty married Marion Perry on April 9, 1954 in Chambersburg and he preceded her in death in 1975.

Betty is survived by her son Patrick (Sue) Perry, special friend Douglas Rohde, beloved grandmother of Melissa (Troy) McCabe, Kelly (the late Eric) Timmermann, Patrick (P.J.) Perry and great grandmother to Cory, Caden, Chloe McCabe and Taylor Perry, and sister-in-law Louise Gordley. Also, many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her brothers; James Gordley, twin brother Robert (Barbara) Gordley, William (Hellen) Gordley, and Gerald Gordley

Betty was employed at Silver Springs Health Care Center in Glendale, WI for 40 years. She was a dedicated employee and loved her residents like family. She took pride in caring for them and being an advocate for each and every one of them. She taught her grandchildren the meaning of compassion, empathy, and kindness by the way she cared for her residents. She would bring her grandchildren to the nursing home on her days off to visit with the residents that had no family.

Betty was a very active grandma to her three grandchildren and attended all of their sporting events, cheering them on with pride. She didn’t miss a game or an event for any of them. She loved to take summer trips with them back to her hometown in Chambersburg, IL to visit family. Betty also adored her great grandchildren and spent as much time as she could with them.

Betty retired and moved up north to Dunbar, WI in 1999. She was very active in the community with the Sportsmans Club, seniors, and volunteered at every opportunity she had. Betty loved all sports and enjoyed watching and cheering on her Wisconsin teams. She loved baking and was known for her many desserts including her peanut butter chocolate chip bars and oatmeal cake. She also enjoyed her word search puzzles, cutting grass, planting flowers, and feeding and watching the birds. She will be deeply missed by all of her family and friends.

Visitation will be held at Northwoods Chapel in Pembine WI, on 24th March from 11am until time of her funeral service at 12:30 pm. Pastor Ross Bole will be officiating. Burial will take place this spring in Dunbar at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
