Stanley Sieja Jr.

Jul 12, 1947 - May 22, 2023

passed away at the age of 75 on May 22, 2023. He was born on July 12, 1947. Stan died while sitting in his favorite chair, peaceful and calm.  By sea, by air, by land and by himself with God by his side, Stan travelled 74,703 miles. Stan made three trips around the world. The first in his 26 ft. sailboat he named Jenny, sometimes at sea with no land in sight for six weeks. On his second trip he flew a Piper Cub aeroplane he named Betsy and circumnavigated the globe once again. Stan’s third trip by land started in his orange 1950 Willy jeep he named Nellie. He finished his trip by land riding a Harley Davidson. His motorcycle stands in a museum outside of Asheville, N.C. Stan’s sailboat and aeroplane no longer exist.

Stan travelled alone but made friends in all parts of the world who helped him along the way. We are heartbroken and deeply saddened that this is our final good-bye to our brother. Yet his love of adventure lives on in his three-book trilogy and for this we are grateful. We hope they might light the way for other adventurers.

“Oh, the places he’s been, and the things he’s seen”. Dr. Seuss.

“So, that’s about it”!

Our love for you will always remain Stan. We will miss you and thank you for all you have done.

Brenda Massio, Caregiver

Stanley was a great human being. His faith in our Lord Jesus Christ was tremendous. I pray that he has found peace. I only recently heard of his passing. It truly saddened me. I had the honor of caring for his mother, Janet. It was then I got to know Stan and the rest of the family. After this period of time, I’m sure his siblings have moved on. I pray that all are living their best lives and think of the ones who have gone on before fondly.

I had planned on attending Stanley’s funeral service, but unfortunately we received company. Stanley was a classmate and has accomplishments so much:his books, his travels, but most important was his love of our Lord and how let that love show thru.

We met Stanley, going to church with our Aunt. We invited him out for fish, and he said: “I’d be delighted!” May the perpetual light shine upon his soul & May he rest in peace ☮️

I met Stanley back in the 80’s at the Pulaski Airport, and became friends! Being a fellow aviator, we had commonality that gave us a connection. I followed his travels over the years and was impressed with his sense of adventure and spirituality! He had a quiet demeanor, did not brag of his accomplishments, and was hard not to like as an individual. We kept in touch over the years, and he will be sadly missed, as a friend! My sincere condolences to Stanley’s family! CAVU (ceilings and visibility’s unlimited) my friend!
