Richard J. “Super Dick” Gehling

Mar 30, 1940 - Mar 18, 2021

age 80, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully on March 18, 2021 at his home. He was born in Clintonville on March 30, 1940; son of the late Lindle and Gladys (Burdick) Gehling. After graduating Pembine High School Dick entered Oshkosh Vocational School and graduated with a degree in Forestry Management. He worked for Kimberley Clark as a Forestry Appraiser traveling from the Upper Peninsula to Minnesota. He started his business in 1964, “The Little Beaver Lumber Co” until retirement in 2006. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed touring with his Schnauzer. Dick was a determined individual always completing tasks at hand and loved every minute of life.

Dick is survived by his loving wife Darlene; two children: Sarah (Dean) Mair and Gary Gehling; three grandchildren: Halie, Grayson and Austin; one sister and three brothers: Carol Ernst, Dan Gehling, Bill (Lucille) Gehling, and Lynn “Beanie” (Jill Young) Gehling; and nieces, nephews and numerous friends. He was preceded in death by brothers: Bob (Karen), Joe and infant Gary.

There will be a Celebration of Life service held this summer.

Dick’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to the Pembine Rescue Squad and Unity Hospice for their acts of kindness.

Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee is assisting Dick’s family with arrangements.
