Marian Theresa Zajac

Jun 18, 1929 - Sep 27, 2020

Marian found peace on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the age of 91.Marian was born in Wausaukee, WI to Michael and Sally (Broz) Zajac. She graduated from Wausaukee High School in 1947 and remarkably worked for the same company, ADT Security Systems, as a secretary for 42 years starting out at the Detroit, MI office for 27 years and then transferring to the Milwaukee, WI office where she worked the remaining 15 years of her career. Marian maintained friendships with many of her coworkers through the years. She also kept in touch with classmates.
Marian was in her element in the kitchen. She enjoyed making traditional Polish dishes like pierogi, stuffed cabbages and braided egg bread. She was happy to share with others her recipes as well as offer them hands-on instruction on how to make the dishes. Pies and cheesecakes were her specialty. She almost always had some sort of sweet treat that she made on hand in the kitchen.
She was a member of St. Augustine’s Catholic Church and often times offered up her baked goods for various church functions. She also led the weekly rosary group there from time to time. She was a member of the St. Isidore Society of the Polish National Alliance for many years.
Her Polish heritage was important to her and connecting with relatives in Poland during a trip there, accompanied by her two sisters, made for some wonderful memories.
Survivors include her sister, Dorothy Lane of West Bend, WI, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, four brothers: Walter, Joseph, John, Martin and her sister, Helen Zajac.
Marian will be greatly missed by other relatives and many friends. Special thanks to the staff at The Fields – Samaritan Campus in West Bend, WI where Marian made her home in an assisted living apartment the past 1.5 years with her dear sister, Dorothy right next door.
Visitation will be held at Roubal Funeral Home, 513 First Street, Wausaukee, WI on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 12:00 p.m. Preceding the 12:00 p.m. funeral mass officiated by Father Frederick Sserugga, we will pray the rosary together. This will all be held at the funeral home as well. Proper precautions will be taken for Covid-19 when indoors and masks will be required. Burial will follow and all are invited to join the family at Evergreen Cemetery in Wausaukee.

In lieu of flowers, a donation or mass offering in Marian’s name to St. Augustine Catholic Church in Wausaukee would be greatly appreciated.

Roubal Funeral Home is serving the family.
