Louise A. “Lou” Kawa

Jun 06, 1932 - Jul 31, 2022

age 90, formerly of Dunbar, passed away peacefully Sunday July 31, 2022, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara. She was born in Chicago on June 6, 1932; daughter of the late Joseph and Bernice (Wilkus) Siemek. Lou was united in marriage to Felix “Phil” Kawa on February 20, 1971 in Chicago. Lou was always the life of the party. She loved talking to everybody, even if she never met you before. She was fun, outgoing and very honest at times, especially in regards to politics. Ultimately Lou did not enjoy cooking so she frequented all of Northern Marinette County restaurants on a consistent basis. She enjoyed listening to polka music with Phil; they volunteered at the VA Hospital for numerous years and thoroughly enjoyed going to the casino.

Lou is survived by her nieces: Christine (George) Dogoda and Teresa (Daniel) Clark; and special friends, Mary Lou (Jerry) Neumann. She was preceded in death by her husband, Phil.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11am on Thursday August 4, 2022, at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church in Pembine with Father Quinn Mann officiating. Visitation is from 10am until the time of Mass at church. Burial is in the Memorial Garden’s Cemetery, Dunbar.

Mary Lou and Jerry wish to thank all the staff at Maryhill Manor for their wonderful care shown and given to Lou. She thought very highly of you and appreciated everything you did for her over the years.

Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee is assisting Lou’s family with arrangements.

My family would like to thank you Aunt Lou for all the wonderful times and 25 years of visiting up North. Aunt Lou was such a loving and giving woman who enjoyed her parties. She and her brother Dan were 2 of a kind. Her husband Uncle Felix was very special to her, she loved her buddy. They moved up North and spent 40 yrs in Dunbar. Miss you my Godmother and our conversations. Till we meet again, never goodbye. Love you, from Jean and Chris

Louise Kawa also had a brother Daniel Joseph (who passed in 2019) and a sister- in-law Jean. Another nice Jodi Krafft (Scott) and cousins, Clarence, Michael, Patricia, Joan, Irene, Linda and Audrey. She was loved by many and enjoyed long lively conversations. Although her husband Felix passed, she was the life of the party and loved her Polka dancing and dark beer. Love her and miss her greatly.
