Joseph “Joe” Stanley Biernasz

age 99, of Middle Inlet, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday October 5, 2022. He was born in Chicago on November 20, 1922, son of the late Jacob and Mary (Paligaca) Biernasz. When he was a youngster Joe’s family moved to Wisconsin making Middle Inlet his lifelong home. In 1943 Joe joined the United States Army being honorably discharged in 1945. He married Florence Novak on September 22, 1945 at St. Augustine Catholic Church. After their marriage Joe and Florence bought a farm and farmed until 1954. He then worked for his brother-in-law at Wausaukee Redi-Mix until 1960. Later he started working for the Marinette County Highway Department retiring in 1984 after 24 years.

Joe enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, and was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. As an excellent polka dancer Joe spent many Sunday afternoons enjoying polka bands around the area. He was a member at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Wausaukee.

Joe is survived by his four children: Joseph G. (Sally) Biernasz of Port Huron, MI, Thomas (Donna) Biernasz of Peshtigo, James (Kay) Biernasz of Crivitz and JoAnn (Pat) Swick of Crivitz; seven grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; and special friend, Trease Greene of Norway, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence; grandson, Joseph; two brothers: Walter and Andrew “Hank”; infant sister, Lottie; one half-sister; three step-brothers; and one step-sister.

A Private Family service will be held at a later date with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery.

The family extends their sincere thanks to Unity Hospice for the care they provided Joe. Thank you to the whole team, your help is appreciated & will always be remembered.
