Jerry F. Giannunzio

Mar 31, 1955 - Apr 02, 2022

age 67, of Iron River, MI and Goodman, passed away April 2, 2022, at Dickinson Hospital in Iron Mountain after a battle with cancer. Born March 31, 1955, in Kingsford, MI to the late Joe and Bethel (Coleman-McNabb) Giannunzio, he was the youngest of seven children. Jerry married Paula Buck of Goodman on December 11, 1976. They have three children and eight grandchildren. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy and traveled the world. He studied mechanical design, excelled at Tae Kwon Do, volunteered as a firefighter and on the rescue squad as an EMT, and was an excellent truck driver. Jerry had many talents and could do almost any job, always working hard. He was mechanically inclined and always had creative and innovative ideas. He was the best father and a loving husband as well as a father figure to others. He would help anyone who needed it. Music, dancing, building, designing, and remodeling were some of his greatest passions. He also enjoyed Star Trek, martial arts, movies, golf, football, fishing, camping, and he loved Christmas time. Many of us remember him playing music and dancing. We are so proud of him and he will be missed everyday.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Paula; three children: Eric (Tara), Jessica (Fieldon), and Angela (Justin); grandchildren: Stone, Ethan, Everette, Carmine, Sawyer, Owen, Silas, and Francesca; brothers: Joe (Kathy), Bob (Jan) and Ron (Sherri); and many nieces, nephews, cousins, mother-in-law Sharon Buck and sister and brother-in-law, Dawn and Daniel. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Dave and Eugene; sister Jeannie; and father-in-law, Richard.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date and will be announced.

A gofundme page will be available as well. Please continue to share stories, memories, and photos of him which we cherish.

I had the pleasure of getting acquainted with Jerry back when I was an EMT on the Wausaukee Rescue squad. It was always comforting to know that he was scheduled as my partner on squad calls. I became more acquainted with him on our drives back from the hospitals. He was an easy man to get to know and boy, that guy could fix/repair anything!! My sincere condolences to all of Jerry's family. Our world would be a real fine place if we all had a little bit of this man in us!
