James A “Jim” Weaver

Sep 11, 1944 - Jan 03, 2020

age 75, of Dunbar, passed away peacefully from natural causes Friday January 3, 2020, at his home. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on September 11, 1944; son of the late Bernard and Bernice (Helding) Weaver. He was a talented mechanic and body shop guy, known for painting Corvettes. Later in life he became an expert “scrapper”. Jim loved his life in Dunbar. Buying his acreage, building his cabin and opening his shop gave him pride. “Weave” enjoyed deer and bird hunting, snow shoeing, cutting firewood, chit-chatting with his friends, going to Richards Supper Club and spending time with his coffee klatch buddies. Everyone knows Jim was good for a favor, offering a hand or lending a tool, often times giving his last dollar. His family adored him and respected his unshakable integrity and modesty.

Jim is survived by his brother, Ron Weaver; sister, Jeanette Woods, nieces and nephew: Lynette (Mark) Wendel, Sandy Woods (Miranda) Laura Weaver (Joey), Jason (Coleen) Weaver; and former partner, Sandy VanDen Heuvel (Terah and Austin).

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will take place on Saturday July 11, 2020, at the Dunbar Sportsmen’s Club from 1p.m. until 5p.m.

Roubal Funeral Home of Wausaukee is assisting the family with arrangements.

I loved my brother dearly. It was a favor from our Lord Jesus that were able to spend over three weeks together just prior to Jim going home to be with our Lord. He is loved by all who knew him.

My deepest condolences to your family. I’ve heard the stories of Uncle Jim over the years and loved him without meeting him. Lynette, you have always given great tribute to your uncle and have continued your support of him unconditionally . You should be proud as a family . May he Rest In Peace. I am pleased that he was able to pass on his own terms. ❤️
