Gerald “Jerry” Wojcik
May 21, 1936 - Aug 05, 2022
age 86, of Wausaukee, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Friday August 5, 2022. He was born in Chicago on May 21, 1936; son of the late Joseph and Anna (Siedlecki) Wojcik. Jerry graduated from Wausaukee High School in 1954. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Darlene Huempfner, at St. Augustine Catholic Church.
Jerry was a meat cutter/butcher with Swift, Inc. in Green Bay before returning to Wausaukee to eventually own Jerry’s Market. He was so proud of ‘The Biggest Little Store in Town, and was well known for his homemade Polish sausage, bratwurst and hot dogs; filling orders for customers locally, out of town and even out of state!
Being involved in the community was always important to Jerry. He served on the Fire Department, Cemetery Board, Village Board, ushered at St. Augustine and was happiest while driving for the Wausaukee Rescue Squad for over 65 years. Jerry was committed to helping others!
Jerry’s pride and joy was spending time with his family. If there was a school function where any of his children/grandchildren were participating, you would be sure to find him there. Attending sporting events was a favorite past time. He would cheer on the Rangers and be upset with the officiating if they lost!
Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Darlene; four children: Gary (Chris) Wojcik, Sharon (Tom) Riehl, Pam (Dave) Heritsch, and Greg (Sandy) Wojcik; 17 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; brother, Tom (Dorothy) Wojcik; and many brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant sister and infant grandsons: Lucas and Layton.
