Eric Otto Richter

May 22, 1931 - Dec 29, 2020

89, Crivitz, WI (Crooked Lake), formerly of Neenah, WI, passed away at Rennes East Rehab and Health Center, Peshtigo WI after a long illness. He was born May 22, 1931, in Rhinelander, WI to Bertha and Otto Richter. Eric attended East Green Bay High School and graduated from East DePere High School in 1949. He served in the Marine Corps from Oct. 1949 until his discharge in 1953. He then attended Oshkosh State College.

He married Joan Marie Routhieaux June 15, 1955 at First Methodist Church, Green Bay, WI. He worked in the Financial Department of Kimberly Clark Corporation, Neenah, WI from 1956 until retirement in 1987. Following his retirement he worked seven years teaching Outdoor Environmental Education at Green Bay YMCA Camp U-Nah-LI-YA.

Eric and his wife Joan, retired in the Crooked Lake area west of Crivitz, WI in 1990. Their son, Robert Richter also joined them. For some 48 summers, Joan and Eric enjoyed perch and salmon fishing along the Les Cheneaux Islands in Cedarville, MI. He was an avid postal stamp collector and a longtime member of the Northwoods Philatellic Society of Iron Mountain, MI.

Eric is survived by his wife, Joan, of 65 years and their two boys, Robert of Crivitz and Kenneth (Sue) Richter of Neenah, Wi. His sister, Andrea Parsons of Breckenridge, TN Also survived by two granddaughters, Hannah Richter, Neenah, WI and Hailey Richter, Milwaukee, WI

He was preceded in death by their daughter, Susan Marie Owens, a brother, Edwin Richter, and his parents.

To honor Eric’s wish, no service will be held.

The family very much appreciates the wonderful care of the doctors, and nurses of Bellin Health, Advocate Aurora Hospitals, Unity Hospice and Rennes Rehab and Health Center-East.
