Bernice S. Russ

age 94, of Marinette, formerly Wausaukee, died Wednesday August 5, 2020, at Aurora Medical Center BayArea. She was born in Wausaukee on January 5, 1926; daughter of the late Frank and Francis (Nowak) Figas. Bernice and her husband Matt Jr owned and operated a Dairy Farm for many years. She also worked at local establishments including the Wausaukee Bowl as a cook for 14 years. Bernice loved tending to her garden, and enjoyed playing games and puzzles. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the Ladies Society.

Bernice is survived by her three children: Josephine Kokoszka of Green Bay, Stacey Russ of Crivitz, and Michael (Bobbie) Russ of Wausaukee; eight grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; two half- brothers: Tony Figas and Jerry (Rosie) Figas; and four half-sisters: Theresa, Angeline, Veronica, and Betty. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matt; two sons: Robert and Patrick; four sisters: Helen, Ann, Josephine, and Mary; brother, Phil; and son-in-law, John.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday August 11, 2020, at St. Augustine Catholic Church from 10am until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11. For the safety of yourself and others please wear a mask. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
