age 93, passed away peacefully on Sunday June 20, 2021 at Rennes Health & Rehab Center-East. He was born on February 8, 1928 in Wabeno, WI to Curt and Mabel (Neuville) Cheney. He graduated from Wabeno High School class of 1946. He then continued his education at Kettering University (General Motors Institute of Technology) graduating with a B.S. Degree in business. He then returned to the family business in Wabeno, Cheney Motor Company. He finished his career working for the Federal Forest Service (Job Corps). On October 1, 1949 he married Nonabelle Hicok in Laona. They were together for 61 years and together they had two children Stephen and Paula. They loved their family of 6 grandkids and 5 great grandkids. They also loved their winters together in Florida and Dauphin Islands, Alabama. Ben enjoyed his dogs, golfing, fishing for walleyes and having a good time! He served on the Wabeno School Board for many years. Belonged to the Knights of Columbus (4th Degree) and was an active member of St. Ambrose Parish.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nonabelle; his mother Mabel; father Curt; sister Emy Lou; twin brother Joe; and his in-laws Al and Josephine Hicok.
Ben is survived by his two children: Paula (Jerry) Marciniak and Steve (Jan) Cheney; his grandchildren: Stephen (Ashley) Marciniak, Ashley (Dustin) Gaede, Ryan Marciniak, Kyle (Megan) Cheney, Kristin Cheney and Kelli (Billy) Forrest; and great grandchildren: Carter, Amara, Adelyn, Wynn and Charlie.
Visitation for Ben will be held at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Wabeno on Friday June 25, 2021 from 10 am until Mass of Christian Burial at 12 pm (noon). Father Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep will officiate. Interment will follow in the St. Ambrose Catholic Cemetery.
